The Atmospheric Control Model D2 breather is an airborne dirt and water
filter/breather for use on the 2 inch tank vent of diesel fuel storage tanks both
above and below ground. The D2 is a 2 micron absolute dirt filter along
with a desiccant which removes moisture from the air going in and out of
your tank. By replacing your current 2 inch tank vent (which keeps
out bricks and birds!) on your diesel fuel storage tank with the D2
breather, you will virtually eliminate the primary source of dirt and
water contamination in your fuel. Diesel fuel is like a magnet for both
dirt and water! By removing the water, you also eliminate the life
source for anerobic bacteria as these organisms must have water to live!
Engine manufacturers have earmarked the 7 micron dirt particle as *the*
contaminant which destroys fuel pumps, injectors, related fuel
components AND shortens engine life! The D2 Breather stops this particle
from entering your fuel system! The D2 breather generally lasts 3 to 6
months or longer depending on climatic conditions and the condition of
your tanks. The D2 breather is designed for use on all diesel fuel
storage tanks and has a flow rating of 500 Gallons per minute. The D2 is
incredibly effective for standby generator tanks where fuel resides for
long periods and deteriorates rapidly, creating fuel filter blockages
that will shut down a standby generator in a short time of operation.
Plus the by-products of bacteria and algae will eat the inside surface
of the fuel tank, leading to tank failure and environmental problems.
The D2 tank breather is inexpensive insurance for your diesel engine,
standby diesel generator, or any product you want to keep clean and dry!
It is much easier and less costly to change air breathers and keep the
fuel clean to start with than to change fuel filters, especially when a
truck is hundreds of miles from home!!
The unit tells clearly when it needs to be changed by changing colors from brilliant gold to black. The complete D2 unit is simply removed and discarded via normal disposal as it is not hazardous, and then replaced by a complete new D2 unit. It is that simple.
